(More than) halfway there!
I’m at London Heathrow airport. It was a quick flight; even though we left an hour late, we almost landed on time. I slept for maybe an hour total. I watched movies on my personal screen:
Music and Lyrics: super cheesy, kind of lame, unbelievable characters… but Hugh Grant =

The Holiday: also cheesy, though I only saw half of it… Jude Law also merits some degree of
(but not as much!)
We seemed to circle around London forever before finally landing at 8:30ish. It also took ages to reach the gate. It was cloudy and about 50 degrees, so I didn’t see much scenery from above. I DID see a lot of green at one point though.
Transferred to T1, have almost an hour to kill before connecting flight to Milan. I’m tempted to stock up on English lit – who knows if I’ll be able to find any in Italy! I did end up buying Bill Bryson’s “Neither Here Nor There”, which I read and loved last year. It’s all about backpacking through Europe. I need to read it as slow as possible so it lasts!
I’m now sitting at Caffe Nero, desperately trying to stay awake with a latte. I think it’s helping. The plan is to get to Milan, find the hostel, drop off my stuff and try to see the Duomo before it closes. Then I’ll walk around, do some window shopping, get some food, and probably go to sleep early. I need to NOT nap so that I can fix my sleep schedule!
British accents = <3 (ha)… after last year, I’m able to distinguish between the different ones. I still get a kick out of their inability to pronounce the letter ‘t’!
BA plane food was decent… loved the cake! The salad was so weird, it was 2 pieces of lettuce with what looked like pasta and dressing on top, but the ‘pasta’ was mushy and slimy… um?
And now I feel gross and sweaty. Yay for flying!
Ahh 2.5 hrs til Italy!!!!!
