New York Wedding Photography | Portrait Sessions | A Double Sneak Peek!

Last week I got to photograph 2 super-fun Mexican couples during their NYC vacation. We spent the morning shooting on the Brooklyn waterfront, then headed uptown to Central Park to round out the shoot.

Much more of Ianis & Jose Luis, and Diana & Fer coming soon!

Brooklyn Wedding Photography | City Hall Elopement | Sneak Peek: Gillian & Michael

Even this week’s ice storm in Toronto couldn’t stop Gillian and Michael from coming to New York to get married! These two came down from Canada and tied the knot at city hall the week of Christmas. We had a moment of brilliant light in the most opportune of places:

New York Wedding Photography | Bear Mountain | A & J

I got to photograph this fantastic gay wedding with Nicki of De Nueva Photography this past September at Bear Mountain Inn.

Upstate New York weddings are beautiful. Bear Mountain is beautiful. A & J are beautiful. It was a great day.

I shot this beautiful gay wedding with Nicki of De Nueva Photography earlier this fall at Bear Mountain Inn. I’ll be sharing more from this wedding very soon, but for now here are a few of my favorite images:

Travel Photography | Northern India: Rajasthan, Delhi, Agra, and Rishikesh

As I mentioned in a previous post, this past February I took off for a 5 month backpacking trip around Asia. I spent the first month trekking in Nepal. For the second month (March), I took on India – which, admittedly, was not the brightest idea to do as a female traveling solo. It was such a mind-f*ck being immersed in a culture where gender roles are so warped. I felt like I couldn’t do anything or go anywhere without being hassled by Indian men. And you know the stereotype of how Indian men view western women as being very open and easy? I’d assumed that was an exaggeration – whatever, I can hold my own, I’ll be fiiiiiine. Well, unfortunately I can confirm that this stereotype exists for a reason: it’s TRUE. I’ve got first-hand stories to back it up. Ah well, all in the name of adventure, right?

India as a whole was exhausting and frustrating for me, but there were some good things about it too. The palaces are gorgeous and unlike other architecture I’ve seen. Seeing the Taj Mahal was undoubtedly a highlight. Escaping to the far north to Rishikesh was a much-needed retreat from the chaos of Rajasthan. And of course, the whole reason I went to India in the first place: HOLI! This festival of colors has been on my bucket list for years, and I’m so glad I finally got to experience it firsthand – though not without being hassled.

One really cool thing, though, is that I’ve photographed 2 Indian weddings since returning from Asia. I have a whole new appreciation for them after having traveled around India. They are just beautiful, beautiful events. I’ll be blogging those weddings here later this year!

I’m a Brooklyn Wedding Photographer, but if you are getting married overseas I’d love to be your destination wedding photographer. Contact me for more details!
