Melissa and Jon came back to NYC to tie the knot after living in Colombia for the past year. I absolutely loved galavanting around Park Slope, Brooklyn and swapping travel stories with them.
Lots more to come from these two soon!
It may not look like it, but this shoot happened on a frigid winter day last year. Ianis and Jose Luis spent the holidays visiting NYC from Mexico with some friends and they all planned to get some professional photos taken during their trip. Brilliant idea!
We went from Brooklyn to Manhattan, shooting anywhere that looked interesting or had great light. Speaking of the latter: early morning yields AMAZING LIGHT, as I confirmed on this portrait session. I’m not at all what you’d call a morning person, but I’d definitely wake up early again for a sunrise engagement shoot (*hint hint*). Ianis was such a trooper, rocking her wedding dress in 20-degree weather on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. I had a fantastic time hanging out and taking photos of these two!
Jess and Jeff got married last night in New York City. Here’s a sneak peek of their Upper East Side wedding!
Last year, I got to experience an Indian wedding for the first time – photographing *2* of them after I returned from Asia. Not surprisingly, like India itself, Indian weddings are colorful and beautiful – and a lot to take in, which is why I’m dividing this first one up into 2 posts.
You’ll see several photos that focus on hands. I tried very hard to limit them, but they’re such a focal point of the ceremony – adorned with henna and bangles, holding sacred objects, participating in the rituals. I couldn’t help but go a little photo-crazy on them!
I shot this Indian wedding at the Women’s Club of Glen Ridge in NJ with Dennis Pike.
