Wedding Photography | City Hall Elopement | Sneak Peek: Sarah & Mitch

These guys came all the way from Australia to get married in New York City, and they’re spending the next MONTH traveling around the US. Now THAT’s my kind of wedding celebration :)

More to come!

Wedding Photography | NYC Elopement | Jo & Ady

Jo and Ady had a wedding day much like how I imagine mine would be if I ever decided to get married. They flew over from the UK, combined their nuptials with their first-ever trip to NYC, and spent their special day with just their favorite people. No frills, no fuss, just love and the greatest city in the world at their disposal. And they couldn’t have ended up with better weather, either! It was the feel-good kind of day that made you wanna skip down the street singing (or wait, is that just me?).

They had a beautiful ceremony at the Ladies Pavillion, followed by a couple hours’ worth of photos around Central Park, and ending with dinner overlooking Columbus Circle at the Mandarin Oriental. Such a great day for such a great couple :D

Congrats, Jo and Ady!

Wedding Photography | NYC Elopement | Sneak Peek: Jo & Ady

Jo and Ady came over from the UK to get married in Central Park. They could not have been gifted with a more perfect day for their wedding. Here’s one shot from today (more to come soon!):

Wedding Photography | NYC Elopement | Lauren & Dave

I absolutely LOVE the concept of elopement. Love, adventure, travel, and a wee bit o’ secrecy – that’s all pretty much right up my alley (sorry, Mom!).

Lauren and Dave eloped to NYC from Detroit this summer, and I got to be the lucky one who photographed their New York adventures! Peter of Film Cars drove us around the city in a checker cab (yep, the same one I had the pleasure of jetting around in this spring at Alison & Stephen’s wedding!), from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge. Looking back on it three months later, the thing I remember the most is how jazzed we were – all 4 of us. There was so much good energy between us all that made the day that much more enjoyable :)

Wedding Photography | NYC Civil Marriage Ceremony | Lauren & Preston

I left my apartment very early on a Tuesday morning last month, embarking on the usual 13-minute walk to the subway station (I know, not cool). I’m pretty sure I was rocking out to Lady Gaga on my ipod as per usual, likely spacing out to whatever random thought had popped into my head at the time. One second I was walking down the sidewalk, about to step onto the road, and the next second I was on the ground, having taken the oddest fall of my life. There was nothing that had tripped me, and nothing that could have distracted me from the seemingly simple task of crossing the street… yet somehow, I’d managed to slice my knee, rip my pants, and sprain my ankle/foot (I still don’t know which it was). How did this happen?!

In true Lindsay fashion, I picked myself up and continued walking as if nothing happened, occasionally glancing down at my knee which was dripping blood. I mean, I was en route to the City Clerk’s office to witness and photograph Lauren & Preston’s civil marriage ceremony, I had no time for injuries!

All injuries aside, I had so much fun with Lauren and Preston on their wedding day. They completely choreographed their post-wedding shoot themselves! After their city hall ceremony, we cruised around Manhattan in a 1937 Rolls Royce and went up to the Meatpacking District to shoot near some cool graffiti they liked. From there, we walked down 5th Ave, stopped at The Plaza (hello, Home Alone 2!), grabbed some hotdogs at a stand, and wandered around Central Park. Their wedding photos were very New York and very Lauren & Preston, and I’m especially proud of them given the fact that I was limping around the entire time :)

L & P, you were beyond amazing to work with. Thank you for being a testament to why I do what I do!
